Animals of the United States 2100
Animals of the United States 2100 is a mildly satirical look at animal mass extinction, pollution and climate change that is predicted to take place by the end of the 21st century. Our grandchildren are likely going to grow up in a world with a dramatic decrease in biodiversity and animal populations in general. In this book, the term "ecosystem" is dropped in favor of "anthrome"; a term biologists and ecologists will use to define existing animal habitats. Every system on earth will have been impacted by human activity in some way, and the animals expected to survive into the next century depend on humans for their livelihood. This project, while pessimistic and emotionally charged, is intended to have a dark sense of humor juxtaposing animal life and natural scenery with the aftermath of human consumption.
